The North Texas SHOT Show is a fundraiser sponsored by the Archer County 4-H Horse Club.

Funds raised during this event help 4-H members attend judging contests, horse shows, field trips, trail rides and educational opportunities for members of the Club.

During the show, you'll see parents and 4-Hers working tirelessly to keep the show running smooth. If there's anything we can do to help you, please ask!

3 AQHA Judges -- 2 Shows -- 1 Big Event!

Welcome to the 3rd Annual North Texas SHOT Show. This year we are adding an exciting event to our show....an AQHA VRH Open & Amateur show held in conjunction with the SHOT show. Riders can enter the SHOT show, the AQHA show or both. One run will count for all shows.

SCHEDULE

Friday, September 9

SHOT Clinic -- beginning at 9 a.m. --Expert clinicians will teach all four SHOT classes -- Trail, Pleasure, Reining and Cow Horse. Every participant will have the opportunity to work a cow. Click Here for info.

AQHA VRH Cutting Competition -- Friday evening at 7 p.m. The rest of the VRH classes will be held on Saturday.

Paid Cow Work -- available in the outdoor arena starting at 6 p.m. Please call Doug at 940-631-4450 by September 6 to reserve your paid cow work so we have an idea of how many head to have available. $35 for 5 minutes on a fresh cow.

Saturday, September 10

SHOT & AQHA Versatility Ranch Horse Show -- beginning at 8 a.m. We will run 3 arenas simulataneously in order to expedite the show. A schedule will be available the morning of the show. Click here for Show info.

 

PREREGISTRATION

Please preregister for both shows in order to avoid a Late Fee. Deadline -- Friday, September 2 if mailing, or Monday, September 5 if faxing. All entries received after the registration deadline or registering at the show will pay a $25 Late Fee.

 

ACCOMMODATIONS

Rooms are available at the Holiday Inn Express (940) 552-0200 or the Village Inn Best Western at (940) 552-5417. The show is at the Wilbarger County Events Center, 301 Wilbarger St, Vernon, Texas.

Directions --
From the East, head Westbound on Hwy 287. Take the Business 287 Exit (a left exit). Go approximately 1 mile. The facility is on the left.

From the West, head Eastbound on Hwy 287. Take the Laurie St. Exit. Turn Right at the stop sign and go until Laurie St. deadends. Take a left on Wilbarger St. The facility is just up the road on your right.
